Let’s start with the honest answer: There’s no objectively “better” format. A 1-ml-Pen isn’t worse than a 2-ml-Pen—it’s just made for a different situation. Once you get that, you’ll never buy the wrong format again.
This article explains what the numbers actually mean, why a Mesh coil really makes a difference, and when a pod system makes more sense than a classic disposable Pen. All with examples from our Vape selection.
What the number actually means
1 ml or 2 ml—that’s just the tank’s fill volume. That’s all there is to it. A 2-ml-Pen has twice as much concentrate as a 1-ml-Pen, so it lasts longer and costs less per draw. The hardware is often identical or even higher quality, since 2-ml-Pens are more often built with Mesh coils—more on that in a moment.
To put it in numbers: A 1-ml-Pen gives you about 300 to 400 draws, depending on how you use it. A 2-ml-Pen gets you 600 to 800 draws. With the MeshFlash HHZ, the manufacturer says you get about 600 draws—and thanks to the Mesh coil, they’re noticeably more consistent than with the average 1-ml-Pen.
1ml—the right Pen for testing
Imagine you’ve never tried an HHZ-Pen and you buy a two-month supply right away. Not ideal. That’s exactly what the 1-ml-Pen is for. Small, affordable, ready to go—and if you don’t like the variety, the loss is manageable.
The 1-ml line in the shop covers almost all cannabinoid profiles. In the HHZ line, you can start with the HHZ blueberry (€34.90) and the HHZ Mango (€34.90). In the H3 line, Gzuz Red Runtz and Super Lemon Haze (each €29.90) are classic starter pens, while Happy Hemp Lemon Haze, Juicy Melon, and Himbaro Breeze (each €34.90) cover the fruitier varieties of the 98% Ultra line. If you prefer H2, the BK Vapes offer a wide selection: Berry Punch, Mango, Watermelon Cherry, Iced Bonbon, Peach Bubblegum, and Juicy Berry—all for €29.90.
2ml—when you know what you want
Once you’ve found your favorite variety, the 1-ml-Pen doesn’t make much sense anymore. The 2-ml-Pen does cost more up front, but it’s cheaper per draw—and it simply lasts twice as long. That means fewer orders, less packaging waste, and less waiting time.
There’s also a technical advantage: Almost all 2-ml-Pens in the shop use Mesh coils. What that means: The heating surface is larger and more even, not just a single point. The concentrate spreads out more evenly, overheats less quickly, and delivers flavor at a steady level from the first draw to the last. With standard coil Pens, you often notice the flavor fading after half is gone—with Mesh coils, that barely happens.
The 2-ml selection in the shop ranges from the MeshFlash HHZ Pens—Cassis, Pineapple-Coco, and Watermelon (each €49.90)—to the classic HHZ 2-ml varieties like blueberry, Amnesia, and Mango (each €54.90), all the way to the MeshFlash H2 Superior Pens, which are even available in the 2-ml format for just €29.90: Raspberry, Double Apple, blueberry-Mint, Grape-Mint, Peach Creme, and Blackberry Kush.
Pod system: the third option
Pen and pods often get lumped together—but they’re actually fundamentally different concepts. A disposable Pen is all-in-one: battery, tank, and mouthpiece in a single device. When it’s empty, the whole device goes in the electronics recycling. A pod system, on the other hand, separates the battery and Cartridge. You buy the device once, and after that you just swap out the pre-filled Cartridge.
That might sound like a small detail, but in practice it makes a real difference. Less electronic waste per fill, a consistently powerful battery, and over time a better price-to-volume ratio. The downside: You’re tied to that brand’s system—Cartridges and device have to match.
In the shop, SHEESH covers the pod segment, both in the H2 and the H3 version—each 2-ml-Cartridges for €29.90:
For your first SHEESH purchase, order the complete set with device. After that, just get the Cartridges. Check the product page carefully to see what's included.
The Decision Helper
| Situation | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| First order, not sure about the variety | 1 ml – for example, HHZ blueberry 1 ml or BK Vapes Berry Punch |
| Found your favorite, regular use | 2 ml – for example, HHZ blueberry 2 ml or MeshFlash H2 Raspberry |
| Want less electronic waste, daily user | Pod – for example, SHEESH H3 Pod Lemon Haze |
| Want to try several varieties at once | Bundle – 5-for-4 HHZ Bundle |
| Maximum flavor quality per draw | 2 ml with Mesh coil – MeshFlash HHZ or MeshFlash H2 |
Three questions often asked when buying
Is a 2ml Pen always more expensive than a 1ml Pen?
No – and that surprises many. The MeshFlash H2 Superior Pens cost €29.90 in the 2-ml format – the same as many 1-ml Pens from other brands. For HHZ, the price difference is bigger (€34.90 vs. €54.90), but the price per draw is still lower with the 2-ml Pen.
Are Pod-Cartridges compatible with other devices?
No. Pod systems are brand-specific. The SHEESH Cartridges only work with the SHEESH device. Always buy Cartridges and device from the same brand.
Which format is best for absolute beginners?
Start with a 1-ml Pen. The HHZ blueberry is the most popular entry point in our shop – 143 reviews speak for themselves. If you’re more interested in the H2 direction, the BK Vapes Juicy Berry is a good choice. After that, you’ll know what you want to order next time in the 2-ml format.
